A visit with the Kentuckians!

Kentucky bound, Emree to see.
A spooky walk through fall leaves on Friday night with decorations so ghoulish I couldn’t even peek. Walking hand in hand with Lydia she warmed up to us so fast.
Then back to our private model condo wow was that ever nice.(thanks McCall)
Off to Indiana Saturday morning.
A gorgeous drive, the leaves changing color, beautiful tall trees, lakes at every turn, bound to a farm for a hayride to the largest pumpkin field ever.
Who knew Indiana could be that picturesque.
Pony rides, slides, golfing in the lake, and goats long tongues stretching for food. A  picnic in an arbor overlooking a mirrorlike lake.
Then back to Kentucky a Halloween night at the zoo.
Huge crowds, small candy, cute characters, and music that got Lydia dancing like a rockstar. So worth it to watch her, awestruck, taking in the lights, candy and glitter.
She was in heaven.
A spiritual feast on Sunday with Elder Cook.
Beautiful blessing by big bad dad JD.  Emree dressed all in white as cute as can be.
Yummy roast and potatoes McCalls hidden talent wow what a great cook,
Masterpiece oh yea the millionaire painting was what we did seek and I did find.
(but yea JD you probably would have won)
What a treat meeting Lauren what a doll and so witty. Know she’ll be such an asset as a new convert missionary.
Visiting, playing, then walking and long boarding along the Ohio river .
The landscape was breathtaking (caution: don’t fall in - the water was beyond murky)
Seeing the largest bat, meeting Abe, Churchhill Down to see the place of the Kentucky Derby
and best of all visiting JD’s dental school.
Chilies was yummy, now just a 5 hour ride home. (Whoops did I say 5? I mean a 21 hour ride home.) Running 20 miles with luggage in tow we got to our connection in time but the doors were closed. Tired and frustrated we sat in the cold, waiting for a shuttle, then with a few hours of sleep we went back to the airport in the wee hours of the morning, made some close friends, learned to be patient  and grateful that not everyone lives in far away Kentucky.
The Kentuckians couldn’t have been kinder, happier and fun to be with.
We were so impressed with McCall and JD and their love and patience with their cute little girls.
Yes, I’m very grateful and proud to be their Mommy.

Not so sluggish monday

What makes this Monday good is that Cassidy had her baby and that made my Monday better. He is number 20 in the family, wow! It was way fun to see Calvin and hold him. I think he like me best because he was whimpering, then they gave him to me and he stopped and went to sleep. Then when I gave him back he started whimpering again. That wasn't the only thing that made my Monday better, because the parents were gone and I was party hardying. Just kidding I didn't have that great of a time. Lexi and I did some fun stuff like playing ping pong, and carving pumpkins, and playing video games. Miss you mom and dad. I also got a 4 day weekend without school, it was good to have a break. Oh yeah Byu also dominated, go Cougs! Last but not least is Ace, she laid her first egg and she is last to do so.

Sluggish Mondays

This morning I thought, "What would I do if I didn't have a bad Monday?" Well, it turns out that I did. When school ended for me today I felt like I just got squished by a pig, but it wasn't a pig it was homework. I got a huge packet for Geography and another paper to go on top of it. I got to write a short story for Language arts, also got a packet to go with it. This is the most homework I've had forever. When I got home, nobody was home, so I yelled in frustration because my geography homework was so hard. I wanted to punch something. It was also freezing today, and I had to run a mile in gym. Well I'll tell you one thing, when you're running in the wind it feels like you are going to fall apart. Lexi had the worst of the Monday; she got sick with a fever at school and couldn't come home, because she had already missed too much school with tennis. I bet she was thinking "I hate Mondays."

http://hansensareawesome.blogspot.com/

Hey Everyone we just got a new Blog. Come check it out!

Welcome to our new blog

Yes, we got a new blog. The other one wasn't that cool, but this one is awesome. The reason we changed blogs was because mom wanted more space to write. So, here we are. That isn't the only thing we wanted to say. I realized that we hadn't token any pictures during General Conference except one. Here is Kelsi enjoying mom's delicious cinnamon buns she makes every year. They were so good I couldn't stop. It was fun to have the family over to listen to it, and have dinner.
I also want to talk about how our chickens have randomly started following me around (I thought they were scared of me). Especially the one who was the most scared of me, Daisy (or Elvis). Today she walked right up to me let me pick her up and feed her. It turns out from the horrid cold weather that just blasted in yesterday from no where, she just wanted to come into the nice warm garage. So I decided to put food in the hen house (they never go in there), I dug a hole, I got the R.I.P sign to block the wind, put her in, she fell a sleep, and laid an egg. YES! All that hard work building the house paid off. I'm proud!
